Chorley Health Awareness Evening

7th December 2016

The last of the Health Awareness Evenings was held at Chorley Masonic Hall on Wednesday 7th December and was attended by a good audience of between 45 and 50 masons, family and friends.
The four speakers covering Stroke, Alzheimers, Diabetes and Prostate awareness gave very informative presentations on their subjects which were most enlightening for those attending as each speaker commented that all present were in the age related target area.
Yet again it was stressed that no one is immune and regular check ups to give earliest warnings of the onset of each if the illnesses symptoms is essential.
The event was supported by the Provincial Grand Master Keith Beardmore, Special Rep for the Chorley Area Paul Snape, The Grand Master of the Allied Masonic Degrees Tom Jackson and Stuart Seddon Ass Provincial Grand Master Craft.
Phil Ormisher, speaker for Prostate Awareness stressed the importance of PSA testing on an annual basis which can be done through your own GP and is available to everyone over the age of 50. He also extended the offer to speak at any Lodge should they require him. Although not a Mason he would do it on a before or after dinner basis details can be obtained from the Provincial Secretary.
Thanks once again to V W Bro Michael Clarke Ass PGM for arranging the series of Awareness Evenings which have taken place over the last two Months throughout the Province.
